This sanctuary is surrounds the Sajjangarh Palace overlooking Udaipur City which is situated 5 km in the west of Udaipur tourist city. One can have a splendid view of Aravali hill ranges and Udaipur lakes. Sunset and Sunrise views attracts every visitor Bansdara hill’s atop. Also, Sajjangarh Sanctuary is famous for bird watching. An artificial lake named Jiyan Sagar (widely known as “Bari Lake” or “Tiger Lake”) is the major attraction of this sanctuary. This lake is made by Maharana Raj Singhji who was the ex ruler of Mewar and named it after his mother Jana Devi. From close quarters in this safari park you can view herbivores such wild boar, chital, blue bull and sambar etc. At safari park’s diverse parts a network of jungle are created to arrive.

Home to variety of animals such the Jackal, Panther and Hyena is the Sajjangarh sanctuary. Also well represented by a number of migratory and local birds is the avian population. The Sajjangarh Sanctuary offers magnificent chances for nature, treks and safari walks with a lush green cover to boasts. Also the home to a variety of insects and reptiles is Sajjangarh Sanctuary. Over the horizon, the park offers an amazing view of the sun rising and setting, the Bansdara Hill situated within.

A constant source of water is a Jhar water Hole which is situated on Western phase of Bansdara hills. Ancient Mahua tree’s bounded by a number is it. And there is a temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva near the waterhole. At this place, an ideal place to experience is Sajjangarh Sanctuary which effect of micro- climate with surrounded forest area by sitting. Safari Park was reintroduced wild animals such Wild Boar, Blue Bull, Chital and Sambar; were created. From variety of birds and reptiles, animals such Jackal, Panther, Hyena and Hare has reappeared apart. Now the entire hillock has been improving, fenced the sanctuary area’s vegetal cover and the further wall extend.

There is an artificial lake named Jiyan Sagar which is popularly known as “Tiger Lake or Bari Lake” at a short distance on the North West of Sajjangarh in the Hills. A place rich with wildlife as well as flora and fauna’s abundance is Sajjangarh Sanctuary. The flows of spring through the area add the extra beauty to the sanctuary during the rainy season.

Safari Park

From dose quarters, herbivores such Wild Boar, Chital, Sambar, Blue Bull etc have been reintroduced in the Safari Park to view the wild animals. Road network of forest has been given to reach Safari Park’s unique parts.

Jhar Water Hole & Mahua Grove

A perennial source of water “Jhar Water Hole” is situated on western aspect of Bansdara hills which is surrounded by a number of ancient Mahua trees. In close vicinity of this sacred grove is the Lord Siva Temple. At this place, micro climates one can experience the effects created by the surrounding forest area sitting. Through the area adds, the springs flowing, the beauty many more times during the time of rainy season.

Maharana Pratap Nature Trail

One can track to Bari Lake from Gorilla viewpoint through this nature trail and along with rich present of flora and fauna in the area can study the pretty geographical features of Aravali hills.

Main Attractions Of Sajjangarh Sanctuary

Tiger Lake: This Lake was constructed in 1664 AD by Maharana Raj Singhji which is located a few kilometers to the north- west of Sajjangarh Sanctuary. The lake named after his mother Jana Devi which store around 400 million cubic feet of water and covers an area of 1.25 sq miles.

Sajjangarh Fort: In the 18th century, the fort was built by Maharana Sajjan singh. Sajjangarh Fort has been converted into a hunting lodge that attracts many across the globe and is located on the outskirts of Udaipur.

Shiva Temple: A must visit site is Shiva Temple which an ancient temple for anyone touring the region.
