After the impressive Kumbhalgarh’s historic fort its takes name which comes into view over the park and is located in the most rugged of the Aravali in Pali, Udaipur and Rajsamand districts of Rajasthan. This park at an altitude of 500 to 1,300 m and is 578 sq km in area. Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary is home to a wild life’s very large varieties which are some of highly endangered species. The wild life of Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary includes hyena, chaisingh (the four horned antelopes), wolf, jungle cat, chinkara, leopards, nilgai, sloth bear, hare, sambhar and jackal. Between the two different parts of Rajasthan Marwar and Mewar, the parks green tract shapes a dividing line.

Also gratifying is the bird life at Kumbhalgarh. Here, the entrusted grey jungle fowl and normally shy can be spotted. By the jungle guards, Doves and Peacocks can be sighted regularly feeding on scattered of grain. Near the water holes, you can also be seen white breasted kingfisher and other birds such grey pigeons, Dove, the red spur owls, golden Oriole, Parakeets and Bulbul.

Natural beauty of Kumbhalgarh is attracting many tourists and especially from Udaipur for its accessibility which is 100 km from here. Providing to be very famous is house safari and foot tracking which is organized by local tour operators. Form the Fort of Kumbhalgarh, a typical safari route enters the sanctuary and borders an old abandoned road and it reaches Ghanerao cutting across the sanctuary. One can sight many birds, Neelgais, four horned, Chinkaras and Antelope. That it boasts of the diverse topography is another charm of the sanctuary. This islands palace was built as a retreat for the Shah Jahan who was Mughal emperor and builder of the Taj Mahal.

Kumbhalgarh Fort: You can visit the Kumbhalgarh Fort which is apart from the Sanctuary. After the Chittorgarh Fort, Kumbhalgarh Fort happens to be the second most impressive fort in all of Mewar. At the top of the fort Cloud Palace and Badal Mahal is one of the important among them which offers a picturesque beauty of the countryside.

Joba Wolf Point: In the Sanctuary, another point of interest is this point which is near Joba Village, from Sadri, is situated about 7 km. Near the temple of Muchala Mahaveer, Joba Wolf Point is set in the foothills.

Ranakpur Jain Temple: Near the popular Ranakpur Jain Temple is the Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary. One of the most important and largest of all Jain temples is the glorious temple complex which is dedicated to Jain guru Adinath. Nearby, there are a Sun temple and two other Jain temples.
