It is celebrated for 18 days after Holi on the very first day of Chaitra month. During this time of festive girls and women eat only once in a day. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s images are made with the clay and beautifully decorate. Girls and women break the pots on the last day of this festival and throw the price of broken into a tank or well; also immersed in water is the clay idols which are made by the married women on the festivals’ last day. From nearby villages many people too come to take part in this festival.

The Gangaur festival continues for 18 days and starts from the next day of Holi or the first day of Chaitra. Buying the seeds of barley in it and from the Holi Fire the Gngaur festival starts with the custom of gathering ashes. Watered everyday awaiting the germination is the seeds after it. Women and girls fast for the full period of the 18 days and a day eat only one meal.
